| So right now I'm at work. I've been here 25 minutes (got here 10 minutes late, whoops) and I've talked to about 3 people. I'm listening to the Bananas mostly and watching people walk by and thinking about doing homework, because I should because finals. I haven't updated here in a while and a virutal semester has passed. It was eventful in that way that life is sometimes. Some of the highlights are lost in a see of weed and alcohol. Others, like the 10-person rap song we composed last week, are quite vivid and saved on my computer. Mind you that I DID contribute to this rap song, in the fashion that you might imagine I COULD contribute to any sort of rhythm based medium. That is, terribly off beat, but all I talked about was helping the black community and black power. My rap name is Flomacks a.k.a Katenge. Well for this group anyway. I was COMBS in another endeavor that was even worse, though I did rhyme in that one. Over all, good times had by all. More people are coming in as I write this. Last night my apartment exchanged Secret Santa gifts. I got Yoshi's Island DS and a bunch of afro picks, including a black fist one, which I've wanted for some time now. I got my santee a couple of PS3 games because his library was kind of small. Good times were had by all. Lou Reed now. My teacher told me that something I wrote in about 3 hours was the best thing I'd written all semester. I don't know how to fell about that. The class didn't get to critique that one, but said something I had written over the course of 4 or five days was the best thing I'd written in a long time/ever. Are these backwards compliments? I don't know, I guess I'm glad to produce quality work. I guess that's it. Good bye y'all. | | |
| So in tradition fashion I am updating my xanga because I have a story due tomorrow and I'm kind of stuck on a transition. I sort of know what's going to happen but I'm going to procrastinate. It's about pirates I think. So far it's alright. School so far has been quite good actually. I only have three classes a week, and they arent too stressful. Most of the homework I've been able to manage and I'm only a little behind on the reading. Mostly I've just been drinking and smoking and generally being a stupid college kid for the last couple of weeks. For some reason beer pong, despite never once making an appeareance the pervious two years, has been played on a semi-consistant night in my apartment. I played once or twice. I'm not very good and I generally don't enjoy the game at all. This plus being too broke for beer means I don't play often. Being broke kind of sucks but I'll deal. Maybe if my parents call I'll mention being broke and somehow $100 will appear in my account. This has happened unintentially several times before. I rarely ask my parents for money, which considering theyre paying so much for me to go here, I feel is good. But sometimes they surprise me. I've been playing alot of Mario Kart Wii lately. Its fun. Me and my roommates began a movie last year, and submitted it to the campus television station in a contest. We didnt win or even get a runner up but now its being played on tv sometimes and i caught the tail end of it today. Channel surfing + stumbling across me = Awesome. Good times. Today is shirtless sunday. I dont intend to wear a shirt today. Ive done this once before. Im trying to make it more consistant. I have Skype now but have only used it once. afro.masters is my name if you wanna talk. I dont know how often ill be on and the real phone and email and IMs and all the million other ways to contact me are all there.
The music this year kind of sucks.

Possible update on the happenings of school later. Probably not though.

| So Otakon happened. I am tired as shit. Shit tired. Shit emphasis tired. I counted 36 people wearing Joker make up from the amazing film The Dark Knight. I saw a bunch of random people from Sherwood like Jack Vaughn and Tammy Wan. I watched four movies, two of them were friggin sweet awesome and two of them were mediocre. Tokyo Gore Police (gore is in the name!) and Hell's Ground (Pakistani teen slasher/zombie film of high quality good times) were sweet awesome and M (Psychedelic kinda weird kinda just not interesting movie) and Vampire Cop Ricky (Was good, very silly, about a cop bitten by a mosquito from Transylvania, kinda turns into a super hero movie. Wasn't bad, just very silly. Like his vampire powers were only activated whenever he got a boner or was enraged. Korean boner jokes! Name wasn't Ricky though. No one's was. Odd.) were mediocre, or at least not as good as the others. That was all mostly on friday. Saturday and sunday were largely occupied with the LARP as I teamed up with Scotty and Clark and ceased to roam on my on. I was Raichu and for most of the LARP all I did was pump my fist and say "CHU-RAI" really militantly. I wanted to be all about killing Ash and abusers of Pokemon, but Ash never showed up and I was disappointed. My ultimate achievement was being able to talk by having Clark splice Shadow the Hedgehog's DNA into my own. I bought this import GBA Coloris whom Cornelius did the sound design for, which is pretty cool and after looking it up online now really understand the really simple gameplay. I also got a Shawn of the Dead poster that I wanted but Allposters.com sold out of so I was like cool and a Polysics CD, "Polysics or Die." That kinda sucks. Well, it doesnt, because I bought it for $5. That is an ill deal like none other. It does suck, because I opened it up, and there were scratches all over the back and a tiny hole in the center ring. The CD case was also cracked but that couldve been from my bag. A hole does not appear easily. So that sucks, I was excited. I emailed Pandora's Cube to inform them, but I doubt anything will come of it. Overall, solid Otakon. Might be my last. Maybe not. Who knows? $25 hotel rooms are awesome.
